The prophet of Islam is named Muhammad. Muhammad was a caravan manager that grew tired of the greed and selfishness in the city in which he lived, so he went into the hills to try and figure out why everyone was so awful. While pondering human existence, the angel Gabriel appeared to Muhammad and told him to spread the word of Allah 'The God", which i s exactly what Muhammad does. He goes back to town and tells everyone that they can gain peace through submission to Allah (which is what the word 'Islam' means). Muhammad writes down Gabriel's messages down in the Quran which became the holy text of Islam. The people that accepted Allah's message and began worshiping were called Muslims. They wanted to become better people for their god so they followed the Five Pillars Of Islam to boost morality and promote spiritual growth.
